How many solar panels do I need for my electricity bill?
For an electricity bill of 500 MAD a month, you need about 2.5 kWp: 5 panels of 500 Wp and about 13 m² of roof. The system costs about 27,500 MAD and saves around 3,070 MAD a year.

System size is capped at 10 kWp, below the 11 kW threshold for the simple declaration under Law 82-21. Areas count the panels only: allow a margin around them, and spacing between rows on a flat roof.
Why not cover 100% of consumption?
Panels produce in the daytime, while part of a home's consumption is in the evening. Beyond about 80% coverage, a growing share of the output goes to the grid, where it earns little. A smaller system whose output is used almost entirely at home pays back faster.
For your own roof, the simulator finds the building outline and tells you how many panels fit.
Frequently asked questions
How many solar panels does a house need?
It depends on the bill: about 3 panels for 300 MAD a month, 5 for 500 MAD and 9 for 1,000 MAD, with 500 Wp panels.
How much roof space do solar panels need?
About 2.6 m² per 500 Wp panel, or 5 m² per kWp, not counting margins and row spacing.
